Pune: PMRDA Takes Concrete Action on Civic Issues in Hinjawadi, Maan, and Marunji
Pune News, July 02, 2025: In a decisive move to address civic concerns, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), under the leadership of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, conducted an on-ground inspection on July 1 in Hinjawadi, Maan, and Marunji. The focus was on assessing urban amenities and ensuring the smooth flow of natural water streams during the monsoon.
During the inspection, PMRDA officials verified compliance with earlier directives to clear blockages in 13 locations obstructing natural drainage. Authorities had previously ordered the removal of these obstructions by June 30. Based on the latest report, further action will be taken to resolve pending issues.
Roadwork and Traffic Relief
In a significant development, the remaining roadwork on the Marunji-Wipro Circle Road will commence soon and is expected to be completed within 15-20 days. Once finished, this project will significantly ease traffic congestion towards Laxmi Chowk, providing much-needed relief to commuters.
Metro Project Review
The inspection also included a progress review of the metro project. Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Deepak Singla, Chief Engineer Rinaj Pathan, Development Permission and Planning Department Director Sunil Marale, and other officials were present during the assessment.
