Pune: PMRDA Holds Pre-Monsoon Emergency Meeting; Focus on Road Repairs, Drain Cleanup, and Disaster Readiness

In preparation for the upcoming monsoon season, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) recently conducted a high-level emergency management meeting today under the guidance of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase. The meeting was attended by Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Deepak Singla, Superintendent of Police and Vigilance Officer Amol Tambe, along with key departmental heads.
Several critical issues were addressed during the session:
✅ Road Repairs: Emphasis was placed on swiftly completing pre-monsoon road repair works to prevent disruption during heavy rains.
✅ Danger Alerts: All departments have been instructed to remain on high alert throughout the monsoon period to ensure rapid response to emergencies.
✅ Debris Management: Strict action will be taken against individuals or entities failing to clear construction or waste debris from open spaces.
✅ Disaster Management: The PMRDA Disaster Response Force (PDRF) has been directed to stay fully prepared for flood, landslide, and other emergency situations.
✅ Drain Cleaning: Authorities have been ordered to urgently clear any obstructions in stormwater drains to maintain smooth water flow during rains.
PMRDA has appealed to all residents to stay safe and exercise necessary precautions during the monsoon season. ☔
