Pune: PMRDA Demolishes 347 Unauthorized Constructions and 51 Illegal Hoardings in Major Crackdown

Pune, September 19, 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), in coordination with other government agencies, has recently removed a total of 347 unauthorized constructions in the Chakan area. Along with these structures, 51 unauthorized hoardings were also taken down to improve public safety and ease traffic congestion.
The operation targeted encroachments along roads marked by the Public Works Department, Maharashtra State Industrial Development Corporation (MSIDC), and National Highways. By removing these illegal structures, authorities aim to expand road width and make commuting safer for citizens.

Particularly, the removal of 51 hoardings addresses a long-standing safety concern. These hoardings were not only unauthorized but also obstructed traffic flow and posed risks to pedestrians. With their removal, the roads in Chakan are expected to become more navigable and secure.
By tackling unauthorized constructions and hoardings, the initiative ensures better traffic management, wider roads, and a safer, more organized environment for residents and commuters in Chakan.
