Pune News, June 11, 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has intensified its drive against illegal constructions in the Pune Metropolitan Region. In a recent operation, the authority took strict action against two unauthorized buildings – a G+7 (8 floors) and a G+3 (4 floors) structure—located in Gat No. 45 at Marunji village near Hinjawadi.

PMRDA officials emphasized that such unauthorized constructions violate urban planning norms and pose safety risks. The demolition drive is part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal real estate developments and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

A senior PMRDA official stated, “We are committed to taking continuous action against illegal constructions. This is a stern warning to builders and property owners who flout development rules.” The authority has warned that further inspections and demolitions will follow across the region to maintain planned urban growth.

Residents and stakeholders have welcomed the move, urging stricter enforcement to prevent haphazard construction. PMRDA has also appealed to citizens to report any illegal structures to help streamline urban development.
