Pune: PMPML Hikes Bus Fares and Revises Stages from June 1 – Check New Rates Here

Starting June 1, 2025, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd. (PMPML) has rolled out a new 11-stage fare structure, applicable for travel distances ranging from 0 to 10 km and beyond, categorized into slabs of approximately 1 km each. This change brings a more structured and transparent fare system aligned with operational costs and passenger convenience.
The revised fare structure includes updated ticket rates, half-ticket rates for children, and fixed journey rates for special passenger categories. The structure also clearly defines charges based on distance stages. Here’s a breakdown of the changes:
- The fare is now classified into 11 stages, with each stage roughly covering 1 km beyond the previous one.
- Stage 0 is not ticketed and is considered a no-fare stage.
- From Stage 1 (0–1 km) onwards, fares start at ₹10 for a full ticket, and go up by ₹5 for almost every subsequent stage.
- The maximum ticket fare at Stage 11 (10+ km) is ₹30.
- For children aged 5 to 12 years, half-tickets are applicable at 50% of the regular rate.
- Special flat fare of ₹10 applies for registered school children and women traveling to and from schools/colleges.
- Monthly and daily pass rates remain unchanged for students, senior citizens, differently-abled commuters, and PMRDA pass holders.

Key Notes for Commuters:
- 🎓 Students will continue to benefit from the 50% discounted pass rate as earlier.
- 👵🏻 Senior citizens and PMRDA pass holders see no changes in pass pricing.
- ♿ Existing pass holders can continue using their passes until validity expires.
- PMPML emphasizes that the updated rates are not an additional burden, but an investment in quality, supporting:
- New electric buses
- Improved punctuality
- Higher standards of cleanliness and safety
Commuters are urged to take note of these changes and cooperate with PMPML staff during the transition.
