The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has announced a comprehensive revision of its fare structure, implementing a new stage-based pricing system effective June 1, 2025. The changes come in response to rising operational costs, including fuel and maintenance, while aiming to enhance service efficiency.

Key Changes in Fare Structure

1. New Stage System (1 to 11 Stages)

  • Fares will now be calculated based on 11 stages, with distance slabs set at 5 km and 10 km intervals.
  • The revised structure covers travel distances from 1 km to 80 km.

2. Revised Pass Rates

  • Single City (Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad) Monthly Pass: ₹900 (unchanged for existing pass holders until expiry).
  • Dual City (Pune + Pimpri-Chinchwad) Monthly Pass: ₹1200 (unchanged for existing pass holders until expiry).
  • Student Passes will continue at 50% concession with no changes.
  • Senior Citizen & PMRDA Passes remain unaffected.

3. Daily & Monthly Passes Unchanged

No changes in fares for daily passes or PMRDA monthly passes.

4. Validity of Existing Passes

Current passes will remain valid until their expiry date under the old rates.

Reason for the Revision

The fare adjustment follows the Maharashtra Government’s 2018 transport policy, aligning PMPML with state transport corporations like MSRTC, BEST, and Nagpur’s city bus service. The new structure aims to balance affordability with improved service quality.

Appeal to Commuters

PMPML has urged passengers to cooperate with ticket inspectors and stay informed about the new fare system. For detailed fare charts, commuters can visit www.pmpml.org.
