The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Epidemic Control Department has rolled out a series of preventive measures to curb the spread of infectious diseases. On 16th May 2025, a training session on epidemic control was conducted for Zonal Medical Officers, Field Medical Officers, Medical Officers, and Resident Medical Officers at UCHC and UPHC.

PMC has directed all municipal clinics and hospitals to maintain sufficient stocks of epidemic medicine kits. A 50-bed ward at Dr. Naidu Infectious Diseases Hospital has been fully equipped for round-the-clock services. Additionally, an Epidemic Control Cell has been established at the PMC level, and awareness guidelines have been distributed to field officers.
