The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has sanctioned an additional payment of ₹14 crore to Mahametro for the construction of the flyover at Nal Stop Chowk on Karve Road. The flyover is a part of the Vanaz Corner to Ramwadi Metro project.

Mahametro had initially requested an additional ₹19 crore, citing cost overruns. However, an assessment conducted by the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) pegged the actual additional expense at ₹14 crore, which the PMC has now agreed to pay.

The project was originally approved by the PMC Standing Committee in 2020 with a budget of ₹39 crore. However, the total expenditure has risen to ₹58 crore. The COEP report validated the additional costs, prompting PMC to allocate the funds from its metro fund, which has a budget provision of ₹15.80 crore for metro-related projects.

The approval for the payment was given by Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale during the Standing Committee meeting on 13th December.
