Pune/Pimpri Chinchwad: Water Supply to be Disrupted on October 30 Due to Metro Work Near Nigdi
Pimpri Chinchwad, October 28, 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced a planned water supply disruption in several parts of the city on Wednesday, October 30, 2025, due to ongoing Metro construction work near Bhakti Shakti Chowk in Nigdi.
According to officials, the work involves shifting a major water pipeline that carries supply from the Sector 23 Water Treatment Plant to Nehrunagar. The relocation is technically significant and necessary to facilitate the Metro project in the area.
Areas Affected
Water supply will remain suspended on the evening of October 30 in the following areas:
- Nehrunagar
- Sant Tukaramnagar
- Maheshnagar
- Ganganagar
- Vallabhnagar
- Kasarwadi
- Phugewadi
- Parts of Chikhali, including Hargude Vasti, Pawar Vasti, Kudalwadi, and Jadhavwadi
PCMC has also warned that residents in these areas may experience low pressure or irregular water supply the next morning (Friday, October 31).
PCMC’s Advisory
Residents are urged to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the maintenance period.
PCMC Chief Engineer Pramod Ombhase said, “The pipeline shifting work linked to the Metro project in Nigdi is a technically significant task, and all efforts are being made to complete it within the planned timeframe. We are taking every possible measure to minimize inconvenience to citizens and seek their cooperation.”
The civic body has requested residents’ understanding as this work is essential to support the city’s ongoing infrastructure development and Metro expansion.
