Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Carry Out Largest Seizure of Cannabis in 5 Years
Pune, July 23, 2025: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell has executed its largest cannabis seizure in the last five years, marking the biggest-ever narcotics bust in the history of the Police Commissionerate.
The operation led to the confiscation of 264 kg of marijuana, valued at over ₹1.32 crore in the illegal market. Additionally, authorities seized a tempo used for transportation and arrested two suspects involved in the drug racket.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell was felicitated by Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Chaubey for their relentless efforts in creating a “Drug-Free Pimpri Chinchwad.” The team’s dedication and hard work were highly commended, with officials stating that this landmark operation has dealt a severe blow to the narcotics supply chain in the region.
This seizure underscores the police’s intensified crackdown on drug peddling, reinforcing their commitment to eradicating narcotics from the city.
