The Pimpri-Chinchwad Cyber Police have uncovered a major fake loan app scam, leading to the arrest of the mastermind in Mumbai. The investigation revealed that over 10,000 citizens across India were defrauded through eight fraudulent loan applications, including:

🕵️‍♂️ Modus Operandi of the Scam

The cybercriminals lured victims with false loan offers, gaining unauthorized access to their phone data, contacts, and gallery. Once personal information was extracted, the fraudsters blackmailed victims using Pakistani phone numbers and Indian UPI payment apps. Fake identities were used to conceal their operations, making it difficult for authorities to trace them.
