Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Initiates Citywide Recovery Drive; Warns of Confiscating Valuables
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will launch a stringent recovery drive starting July 1, targeting property tax defaulters, officials announced.
Between April 1 and June 29, the civic body has already collected ₹465.55 crore in property tax and aims to achieve a target of ₹1,000 crore this fiscal year. Defaulters who have received pre-seizure notices can expect enforcement action at any time after July 1, while others yet to receive notices will soon face similar measures, PCMC stated in a Sunday release.
Senior officials at PCMC, warned, “Strict legal action will be taken against those who fail to pay property tax despite repeated notices. Seizure drives begin July 1. We urge all property owners to clear dues immediately to avoid penalties.”
Last Chance for Discounts & Concessions
PCMC is offering a 10% discount for full online tax payments made by June 30. Other concessions announced by the civic body will also expire on the same date. The officials urged citizens, “We request everyone to pay in full by June 30 to avail these benefits.”
Additionally, property owners who paid via cheques that later bounced will also face enforcement actions.
The civic body’s aggressive stance underscores its push to maximize revenue collection while ensuring compliance. Residents are advised to settle dues immediately to avoid asset confiscation.
