Pune: PCMC Inaugurates Upgraded Eye Surgery Unit at Masulkar Colony Hospital to Boost Capacity
Pune, June 05, 2025: Strengthening eye care services in Pimpri Chinchwad, the PCMC has inaugurated a newly upgraded Eye Surgery Unit at Masulkar Colony Hospital, enhancing its capacity to serve citizens.
Shekhar Singh, Commissioner of PCMC, stated, “I’m pleased to share that this advanced facility will significantly expand our ability to provide quality eye care. With support from Cotmac Electronics’ CSR initiative, we’ve upgraded our equipment, enabling us to perform 35 surgeries daily, up from the previous 25.”
The upgraded unit is expected to reduce wait times and offer affordable, timely treatment to over 4,500 patients annually, reinforcing PCMC’s commitment to accessible and equitable healthcare for all residents.
“This initiative reflects our dedication to building a healthier, more inclusive city,” added Singh.
