Suresh Kondubhairi, an official from Tata Power, which manages the Mulshi Dam, stated that the discharge rate may be increased or decreased depending on the situation. He further urged citizens to avoid entering the riverbed and to exercise caution near the Mula River, as water levels could rise unexpectedly.

Precautionary Measures Issued

  • Residents living near the Mula River have been advised to stay away from the riverbanks.
  • Authorities have warned against venturing into the river for recreational activities due to the risk of strong currents.
  • The administration will continue to monitor water levels and adjust discharge rates as needed.

The Mulshi Dam, a crucial water reservoir for Pune, plays a significant role in irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and water supply. With the monsoon season in full swing, the administration is taking necessary steps to manage water levels efficiently while ensuring public safety.
