Pune: Motorcyclist Dies in Accident on Karve Road; Driver Booked by Police
Pune, February 22 – A tragic road accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Karve Road near Swatantrya Chowk early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 7:30 AM when the deceased was struck by a speeding vehicle while riding his motorcycle.
The injured motorcyclist was immediately rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Following a complaint at the Deccan Police Station, authorities have registered a case against the vehicle driver.
The Deccan Police have launched an investigation into the case. Karve Road is known for its heavy traffic throughout the day, increasing the risk of accidents.
This incident is the latest in a series of fatal accidents on Karve Road. On October 9, 2024, a 23-year-old woman, Aarti Suresh Manvane, lost her life after being hit by a speeding dumper while crossing the road near the Kothrud bus station. Several other fatal accidents have also been reported in the area.
Authorities urge commuters to follow traffic regulations and drive cautiously to prevent further tragedies.
