Pune Metro to increase train frequency to every 6 minutes during peak hours starting this Independence Day

Pune Metro has announced that starting this Independence Day, trains on its network will run every 6 minutes during peak hours to improve availability and reduce waiting time and overcrowding of trains.
Now, every day during peak hours, from 8 AM to 11 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM, Pune Metro will run every 6 minutes, and during other hours, every 10 minutes.
Recently SHRAVAN HARDIKAR, IAS Managing Director, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited, announced the planned increase in frequency of metro trains on Pune Metro network through social media.

This is a welcome development as the increased frequency will reduce waiting times and reduce overcrowding in metro trains during peak hours bringing much needed relief and comfort.
The need for increased frequency of the metro trains is also a testament to the increased demand for Pune Metro and quick adoption of the service by daily commuters over other means of transport.
