Pune Metro has reported impressive financial and ridership figures for the first quarter of 2025, generating ₹21.6 crore in revenue and serving over 1.37 crore commuters.

In March alone, the metro earned ₹7.01 crore, with a ridership of 44.81 lakh.

Break of Line-Wise Revenue

Ramwadi-Vanaz Line: ₹3.85 crore (25.35 lakh riders)

PCMC-Swargate Line: ₹3.16 crore (19.46 lakh riders)

While March’s revenue was lower than January’s ₹7.87 crore (49.64 lakh riders), it surpassed February’s ₹6.73 crore (43.07 lakh riders).

Meanwhile, Metro Line 3 (Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi) is expected to begin operations only by year-end, as the concessionaire has sought an extension until September. Trial runs are likely in October or November after construction concludes. A PMRDA official stated that 83-85% of work is complete, with the University Chowk flyover expected to be ready by April.
