Pune: Major Traffic Diversions Announced for Vrukshathon Marathon on June 1

Pune, May 30 – In view of the upcoming Vrukshathon Marathon on Sunday, June 1, the Pune City Traffic Police have announced extensive traffic diversions across Shivajinagar and Chatushrungi areas. The diversions will be in effect from 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM to facilitate the smooth conduct of the event and ensure public safety.

The marathon will begin from the Pune Police Headquarters in Shivajinagar, covering key routes through Veer Chaphekar Chowk, Suryamukhi Datt Mandir Chowk, Cosmos U-turn, SB Junction, University Road, Pashan, NDA Road, Bavdhan, and Chandni Chowk, before looping back to the starting point.

🚧 Traffic Diversions & Closures:

• Shivajinagar to Chatushrungi: Closed. Use Simla Chowk → Sancheti Chowk → Patil Estate or GM Road.
• From FC Road:
  • Via Sant Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk → Ekbote Lane → Simla Chowk.
  • Via Lalit Mahal Chowk → Paduka Chowk → Bhushan Chowk → Ekbote Lane → Simla Chowk.
• Nargis Dutt Lane Area: Redirected through Model Colony Road → Hotel Ambassador → Lalit Mahal Chowk → Sant Dnyaneshwar Chowk → Bhushan Chowk → Simla Chowk.
• Suryamukhi Datt Mandir Lane and LIC Lane: Temporarily closed.
• BM Thorat Chowk to SB Road: Diverted via Sant Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk.
• Modern Chowk to Revenue Colony Lane: A 100-meter stretch made temporarily two-way.
• Chandni Chowk to Pashan: No entry from 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
• Pashan to Abhimanshree: Use Balaji Chowk → Pashan Sus Road → Baner Link Road.
• Range Hills (Khadki to Range Hills Corner): Rerouted via Symphony Circle.
• ILS Law College Road to SB Road via Nal Stop: Take JW Marriott Chowk → Deep Bungalow Chowk.
• Khau Galli (Om Super Market Chowk to Ganeshkhind Road): Closed.
• JW Marriott to Ganeshkhind Road: Closed to vehicular traffic.
• Baner-Balewadi to Pune University: Take Baner Phata → ITI Road → Parihar Chowk → Bremen Chowk → Dr. Ambedkar Chowk.
• Pimpri-Chinchwad via Aundh to Pune University: Rerouted via Bremen Chowk → Spicer Road → IUCAA Gate → Dr. Ambedkar Chowk.

🚫 Parking Restrictions:

Parking and halting of vehicles will be strictly prohibited along the entire marathon route from 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

The traffic department has appealed for public cooperation and advised all motorists to plan their travel in advance and use the suggested alternative routes to avoid congestion and delays.
