Pune: Maharashtra Government Approves Eco-Tourism Park in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Resolves Key Infrastructure Issues

Pune, June 28, 2025 – In a significant move towards sustainable urban development, the Maharashtra Forest Department, under the leadership of Cabinet Minister Shri Ganesh Naik, has approved the development of an Eco-Tourism Park in Dudulgaon, falling under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting held at Van Bhavan, Pune, attended by key officials and legislators.

Key Decisions from the Meeting

  1. Eco-Tourism Park in Dudulgaon
    • The state government will allocate immediate funds for the project.
    • A final decision on funding will be made within 15 days after the PCMC submits its proposal.
  2. Infrastructure Development in Annabhau Sathe Nagar
    • The Forest Department assured no hindrance in granting permissions for basic infrastructure development in the settlement.
  3. Land Transfer for Road Development
    • Approval granted for land transfer under the approved development plan for road construction.

Wadgaon Sheri Development Projects

MLA Shri Bapusaheb Pathare raised critical forest land issues, leading to key approvals:

  • Water Infrastructure in Lohegaon
    • Construction of 1 MBR (Membrane Bio-Reactor), 1 sump well, and 2 water tanks on forest land (Survey No. 304) was approved.
    • The land will be transferred to the municipal corporation, resolving water scarcity for 50% of Lohegaon.
  • Forest Park in Nirgudi & Wadgaon Shinde
    • high-quality forest park will be developed on forest land in these areas.
  • Road Relocation Near Lohegaon-Nirgudi Forest Boundary
    • A proposal to shift the existing road passing through the forest was approved.
