Pune: La Melosa CHS Inaugurates 76 kW Rooftop Solar Plant, Launches Sustainability Projects

Pune: On May 1, 2025, La Melosa CHS Ltd marked a major milestone in its journey towards sustainability by inaugurating a rooftop solar project with a capacity of 76 kW. The project is expected to reduce annual CO₂ emissions by 100 tons—equivalent to saving approximately 3,300 trees each year.

The system, installed with 139 Adani Bifacial Mono 545W panels, cost ₹70 lakh and was made feasible with financial assistance under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Program. The project journey began in October 2024 with feasibility studies and budgeting, and execution was completed swiftly in April 2025.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent personalities including Vijaysheth Jagtap, Bharatitai Vinode, Vishal (Appa) Kalate, Rambhau Wakadkar, and Snehatai Kalate. Their presence lent strong community support to the event.

Behind the project’s successful execution stood a committed Solar Committee comprising Rahul Patil, Vinayak Bedake, Mohit Titarmare, and Amit. The implementation was carried out by Yubi Solar, with active involvement from residents and managing committee members such as Mr. Singh, Santosh Pawar, Kunal Jain, Chetan Bhadane, Shrikant Khating, Datta Ghodekar, Neeraj Deshmukh, Hemant Shirsath, Rohan Dange, Ravindra Ghatge, and many others.

In a continued push for sustainability, the society is set to roll out a waste management initiative in collaboration with Swarnlata Motherson Trust and the Indian Pollution Control Association. This program will focus on effective waste segregation, recycling, and treatment.
Further green efforts at La Melosa CHS include an upgraded Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for improved water recycling, rainwater harvesting, tree plantation drives, seedball dispersal to boost biodiversity, and health-focused activities such as health checkups and blood donation camps.
La Melosa CHS continues to set an example for urban residential communities embracing sustainable living in Pune.
