Direct Dialogue on Civic Violations

The session, designed to address infrastructure and civic woes within the Vadgaonsheri constituency (covering PMC Wards 3, 4, and 5), saw active participation from local citizens. Residents including Monica Sharma, Yasmin Charania, Rajeshwari, Haresh Harakh, and Kundan personally handed over formal complaints to the Deputy CM.

The residents highlighted a variety of pressing issues, including:

  • Illegal Rooftop Establishments: Bars operating without valid permits in the heart of residential zones.
  • Safety Hazards: Lack of Fire NOCs (No Objection Certificates) and blatant disregard for safety protocols.
  • Public Nuisance: Constant noise pollution and a total lack of designated parking for restaurant patrons, leading to traffic congestion in internal lanes.
  • Zoning Violations: The rapid conversion of residential properties into commercial hubs, disrupting the peace of the neighborhood.

Government Assurance

The residents emphasized that these violations have severely impacted the safety and quality of life in Kalyani Nagar. They urged the state and municipal authorities to initiate firm, immediate action against the violators.

Responding to the concerns, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar assured the delegation that the matter would be thoroughly examined by the relevant departments. He stated that necessary steps would be taken strictly in accordance with the law to restore order in the locality.

Strengthening Citizen Participation

The ‘Coffee with Ajitdada’ forum serves as a platform to bridge the gap between the administration and the public. Local leaders and office bearers were present to witness the discussions, which organizers claim are essential for encouraging practical solutions for Pune’s urban challenges.
