Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the project and unveiled the plaque. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, MLAs Siddharth Shirole, Bapusaheb Pathare and Hemant Rasane joined the ceremony.

PMRDA has built the flyover as a long-term traffic management solution for the busy junction. The ramps on the Shivajinagar and Aundh sides are complete. The remaining ramps at Baner and Pashan are targeted for completion by October 2025. Officials said the design prioritises safety and smoother flow to make everyday commuting quicker and more predictable for citizens. After the ceremony, the Chief Minister reviewed the ongoing works on site.

Senior officials present included Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar, PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Deepak Singla, Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, Pune City Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, SPPU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan and Assistant Commissioner (Administration) Poonam Mehta.

With one corridor open, commuters from Aundh heading towards Shivajinagar should see immediate relief during peak hours. Once the Baner and Pashan ramps are ready, the integrated network is expected to further reduce congestion at University Chowk and along the Ganeshkhind stretch, bringing more order to this high-traffic zone.
