Pune: Inebriated Crane Driver Crashes into IAF Car on Sinhagad Road; No Injuries Reported
Pune witnessed a reckless driving incident on Saturday night when a drunk crane driver collided with an official Indian Air Force (IAF) car near Mangirbaba Chowk on Sinhagad Road. Fortunately, the IAF officer and his driver escaped unharmed, but the vehicle sustained significant damage.
The Parvati police have registered a case against the crane driver for rash, negligent, and drunk driving. The IAF driver, Krishnavir Rajendra Singh (35), filed a formal complaint on Sunday.
Senior Inspector Nandkumar Gaikwad stated, “We detained the crane driver and conducted a medical test, which confirmed he was under the influence of alcohol. The crane hit the IAF car from behind, endangering others on the road.” The car was en route to the National Defence Academy (NDA) when the accident occurred.
Authorities are investigating the incident further to ensure strict action against the offender.
