Pune: Heavy Rains Cause Hoarding Collapse in Sanaswadi, Narrow Escape for Commuters

Pune experienced heavy rains this evening, disrupting normal life across the city. A major accident was narrowly avoided in the Sanaswadi area near Wagholi when a large hoarding collapsed onto the road due to weak support.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, left seven to eight two-wheelers trapped under the hoarding. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as vehicle speeds were low due to rain and traffic was light.
Local citizens and traffic police quickly initiated rescue operations, with the fire brigade and disaster management team arriving promptly to remove the trapped vehicles. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether the hoarding was erected with proper permissions. The local police are conducting a thorough probe, and action is expected against the advertising company responsible.
The incident has sparked fear among residents, leading to demands for stricter action against unsafe hoardings in other parts of Pune.
