Pune: Goods Train Derails Near Bhor Ghat, Disrupts Mumbai-Pune Rail Traffic; No Injuries Reported
Pune, July 11, 2025 – A goods train derailed near Monkey Hill in the Bhor Ghat section of the Mumbai-Pune railway route on Friday afternoon, causing temporary disruptions in train services. The incident occurred around 2 PM when the brake van of the goods train went off the tracks at the halt station in the mountainous region.
According to a Central Railway spokesperson, no injuries or casualties were reported. However, the derailment led to delays, with at least two Pune-bound trains being halted temporarily. A video shared on social media showed the derailed wagons stuck on the tracks, highlighting the severity of the incident.

Swapnil Nile, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, confirmed the derailment to PTI, stating, “There are no reports of anyone getting injured.” Authorities are working to restore normalcy on the busy Mumbai-Pune route, a critical corridor for both passenger and freight trains.
