In a major step toward transparency and convenience, the Pune district administration has launched digital access to decades-old land records. Citizens no longer need to make tedious visits to government offices—instead, they can now retrieve crucial documents online through the ‘Aaple Abhilekh’ portal (https://aapleabhilekh.mahabhumi.gov.in/erecords).

A Treasure Trove of Land Records Now Online

The first phase of digitization covers 40 lakh documents from Haveli and Mulshi talukas, some dating as far back as 1930. These records have been carefully scanned, and metadata has been entered into the system for easy retrieval.

Additional District Collector Suhas Mapari shared that officials are currently digitally signing these records to ensure their authenticity. Once completed, users can simply visit the portal, pay a nominal fee, and download legally valid copies of the documents they need.

Key Documents Available

  • Old 7/12 extracts
  • Old Kadhi records
  • Mutation records
  • Section 8A extracts
  • Inam (grant) certificates
  • Birth and death registers

These documents hold legal validity, meaning they can be used in court cases, property transactions, and other official matters.

Who Stands to Benefit?

This move is a game-changer for:
✅ Property buyers & sellers – Easily verify land ownership history
✅ Farmers – Access old records for inheritance or disputes
✅ Builders & developers – Speed up due diligence
✅ Lawyers & litigants – Retrieve certified copies for court cases

What’s Next?

Over the next six months, the administration plans to digitize 3.25 crore records from all 14 talukas in Pune. Once completed, citizens will have seamless access to a century’s worth of land records—all with just one click.

This initiative not only cuts down on bureaucratic delays but also brings Pune closer to becoming a fully digitized, citizen-friendly district.
