Pune: Gini Bellissimo CHS Powers Up with 80 kW Solar Plant, Eyes Top Green Society Spot in East Pune
Pune News: In a significant step towards environmental sustainability and energy independence, Gini Bellissimo CHS, a residential society comprising 276 flats and over 1,000 residents, inaugurated an 80 kW rooftop solar power plant on April 30, 2025.
The inauguration was graced by Hon. MLA Shri Bapu Tukaram Pathare, Vadgaonsheri. Shri Anil (Bobby) Tingre, Former Corporator of Dhanori, and Shri Rahul Bendre, Engineer at MSEB Dhanori, also blessed the occasion with their presence. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from residents and members of the managing committee.
The project, implemented in partnership with Ecosol Renewables Pvt. Ltd. – Pune, is one of the largest solar installations for a residential society in the Dhanori region. The system comprises 148 high-efficiency half-cut bifacial solar panels (545 Wp each) and is expected to generate substantial financial and environmental returns.

The journey began in January 2024 with detailed feasibility studies, budgeting, and vendor evaluation. Project execution commenced in January 2025 and was successfully completed by April 2025. The Central Financial Assistance (CFA) from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), under the Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar Program, played a vital role in making the initiative feasible.
Gini Bellissimo CHS aspires to consistently demonstrate leadership in environmental stewardship. Earlier this year, the society partnered with SWaCH – an initiative focused on waste segregation, recycling, and treatment. Through this collaboration, the society processes wet garbage and produces approximately 500 kg of compost annually.
In addition to these green initiatives, Gini Bellissimo CHS plans to revive its rainwater harvesting system and upgrade the Sewage Treatment Plant in the coming year.
The society’s overarching aim is to become the number one Green Society in East Pune. With its strong commitment to sustainability, Gini Bellissimo CHS continues to set an inspiring example for urban residential communities across the region.
