Meanwhile, Pune city is under a yellow alert. Weather conditions are likely to include thunderstorms with lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and winds blowing at 30-40 kmph in isolated pockets. Though these are less severe compared to the ghats, residents are advised to stay alert, especially during sudden changes in weather.

Weather scientist Anupam Kashyap has pointed out that the rain activity across Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Pune, is likely to reduce from tomorrow. The system causing the heavy rainfall is weakening into a low-pressure area over West Vidarbha, resulting in lesser rainfall across the state. He also mentioned that yellow alerts in Mumbai and Pune may remain for the next 48 hours due to chances of light rain in Pune and moderate showers in Mumbai, along with thunderstorms and lightning.

Residents are advised to remain cautious but not alarmed, as the worst of the weather should ease soon. Stay safe and check forecasts before stepping out.
