Pune District Collector Issues Orders Allowing Use of Loudspeakers from 6 AM to 12 Midnight for 15 Days in 2026; Check Full List of Dates

Loudspeaker Extension for 2026

Pune, February 17,2026: In an important development for event organizers and devotees across the district, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has officially sanctioned a 15-day relaxation for the use of loudspeakers and sound amplifiers for the year 2026. Under this order, sound systems will be permitted from 6:00 AM until 12:00 AM (midnight) on specific festival days.

The directive, issued in accordance with Rule 5, Sub-rule (3) of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Revised Rules, 2017, aims to balance cultural celebrations with administrative oversight.

Key Dates for Midnight Permission

The 15-day quota includes major cultural and religious milestones. Notably, the relaxation applies to the upcoming Shiv Jayanti on February 19. The schedule is as follows:

  • Shiv Jayanti: February 19
  • Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti: April 14
  • Maharashtra Day: May 1
  • Ganesh Utsav, Eid-e-Milad & Anant Chaturdashi: September 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, and 25 (6 days)
  • Navratri Utsav: October 19 and 20
  • Christmas: December 25
  • New Year’s Eve: December 31
  • Reserved Days: 2 days have been kept in reserve for other important events to be permitted as per requirement.

Terms and Conditions

Collector Jitendra Dudi emphasized that while the time limit is extended, the permissible decibel levels based on specific zones must be strictly maintained. He clarified that:

  1. The relaxation does not apply to Silent Zones (areas near hospitals, educational institutions, and courts).
  2. All relevant agencies are responsible for ensuring these rules are implemented.
  3. Organizers are urged to cooperate with the administration to ensure celebrations remain within legal boundaries.

This proactive announcement allows Pune citizens and mandals to plan their 2026 festivities well in advance while maintaining the city’s decorum.
