Pune: In an exemplary gesture of public service, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Corporator Raghavendra Bappu Mankar has decided to waive his official salary and all allowances, directing the funds toward the Mayor’s Fund. The contribution is specifically earmarked to assist economically disadvantaged patients in the city who are struggling to afford medical treatment.

By choosing to forgo his remuneration, Mankar aims to set a new benchmark for social responsibility within local governance. He expressed that the decision stems from a desire to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder healthcare for the city’s most vulnerable residents.

The move has garnered widespread praise across political and social circles in Pune, being hailed as an exemplary act of “service before self.”

New Leadership Takes Charge

This announcement coincides with the transition of leadership at the PMC. Mankar also extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected officials:

  • Hon. Mrs. Manjusha Deepak Nagpure, Mayor of Pune.
  • Hon. Mr. Parshuram Wadekar, Deputy Mayor of Pune.
