May 20, 2025 - To mark World Bee Day on May 20, city-based bee conservationist Devendra Jani collaborated with the Central Bee Research & Training Institute to spark curiosity and compassion among the next generation. Children from across Pune were invited to a special Bee Museum Tour at the institute. Guided by Devendra and the research team, the kids explored fascinating exhibits about the life of bees, their role in pollination, and their impact on food security. The interactive session opened young eyes to the world of bees — buzzing with purpose and wonder. "We urge citizens & youths to understand the importance of Bees & visit the institute to enhance their knowledge on our projects to Save Bees," said Kiran Uikey, Director, CBRT. Following the museum tour, the children participated in a drawing competition, channeling their newfound knowledge into vibrant artwork celebrating bees and nature. Their creativity reflected a deep sense of admiration for these tiny yet powerful creatures. Meanwhile, at the Rupa Bajaj Institute of Art, an inspiring nature-themed art exhibition was held, showcasing the works of emerging and established artists. In a beautiful gesture connecting nature and creativity, Devendra Jani gifted each participating artist a bee-friendly plant sapling — encouraging them to nurture biodiversity not just through art, but through action. 🐝✨ #WorldBeeDay in Pune: A Celebration of Art, Awareness & Young Minds!Today, Pune buzzed with excitement as bee conservationist Devendra Jani & Central Bee Research & Training Institute hosted kids for a special #BeeMuseumTour! 🏛️🍯 Kids explored the wonders of bees, their… pic.twitter.com/4sEapZuEpE— PuneNow (@itspunenow) May 19, 2025 This World Bee Day celebration highlighted how education, creativity, and community action can come together to build a future where bees thrive — and so do we.
