Pune, 18 August 2025: A serious mishap was narrowly avoided early Monday morning when a passenger bus caught fire on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway near Swaminarayan Mandir, Narhe Road. The incident took place around 2 am.
All passengers were able to get out of the bus safely and no injuries or casualties were reported, said officials. Fire brigade teams from the Pune Municipal Corporation and PMRDA quickly reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Police have launched an investigation to find out what led to the incident.
