Pune Book Festival Returns Bigger & Better: 9 Days of Literary Bliss from Dec 13!

The much-awaited Pune Book Festival is set to enchant bibliophiles once again, running from December 13 to 21 at Fergusson College Campus. Organized by the National Book Trust (NBT) in collaboration with the Pune Municipal Corporation, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and other local bodies, this nine-day literary extravaganza promises a feast for book lovers.
Bigger Plans for 2025: Nashik & Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Added
NBT Director Yuvraj Malik announced that next year, the festival will expand to Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), following the success of similar events in Mumbai and Pune. This expansion aims to promote reading culture across Maharashtra.

- Photography Exhibition: A special showcase themed ‘Joy of Reading’, with a ₹1 lakh prize for winners.
- E-Books Galore: Thousands of e-books available for free download via QR scanners.
- Workshops & Launches: Expect storytelling sessions, painting, dance, and music workshops, along with 100+ new book releases.
A Look Back at 2024’s Success
Last year’s festival saw 600 stalls, over 10 lakh visitors, and 25 lakh books sold, generating ₹40+ crore in revenue. NBT Trustee Rajesh Pande highlighted Pune’s festival as the second-best in India after Delhi, celebrating Maharashtra’s rich literary heritage.
“A book festival is not just an event—it’s the people’s festival,” said Malik, emphasizing NBT’s commitment to enhancing quality and accessibility.
