Pune Airport Introduces ‘Meet & Greet’ and Porter Services – A Game-Changer for Travelers!

Pune News, July 07, 2025: In a significant move to enhance passenger convenience, Pune Airport has launched ‘Meet & Greet’ and porter services, designed to assist travelers with luggage handling and navigation within the airport. Modeled after the traditional railway coolie system, these services aim to provide much-needed support, particularly for senior citizens, women, persons with disabilities, and those carrying heavy luggage.
A Welcome Relief for Passengers
Traveling with heavy bags can be a stressful experience, especially for vulnerable groups. Recognizing this challenge, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) Pune has introduced dedicated porter services to ease the burden.
Passengers can now hire trained personnel for a nominal fee to assist them:
- For departing passengers: Porters will carry luggage from the airport entrance to the security check-in counter.
- For arriving passengers: Assistance will be provided from the conveyor belt to taxi stands.
Santosh Dhoke, Pune Airport Director, stated, “Two special counters have been set up at the new terminal building where travelers can book these services. Our dedicated staff will ensure safe and efficient luggage handling.”
