Pune Airport Enhances Passenger Comfort and Services with New Initiatives and Record Flight Operations
Passengers flying in and out of Pune have plenty to smile about as the Pune International Airport rolls out a series of new initiatives aimed at enhancing comfort and convenience. From improved seating arrangements to authentic local cuisine, and a record number of flights, the airport is transforming into a more efficient and passenger-friendly hub.
Comfortable Recliner Seating for Travelers

One of the latest upgrades at Pune Airport includes the installation of well-appointed recliner seating. These new additions are designed to provide passengers with a relaxed and comfortable environment while they wait for their flights. Whether traveling for business or leisure, passengers can now unwind before departure and enjoy a more pleasant airport experience.
A Taste of Maharashtra Before Takeoff

In a move to celebrate local culture and cuisine, Pune Airport now offers travelers the chance to indulge in the rich, authentic flavors of Maharashtra. The airport has collaborated with popular local food brands such as Balaji, Chitale, Goodluck Café, and Ganesh Bhel. From traditional street-style snacks to royal indulgences, the diverse food offerings are designed to cater to every craving and ensure that your journey begins with a taste to remember.
Record-Breaking Flight Operations
In a significant operational milestone, Pune Airport recorded a total of 212 arrivals and departures in a single day on Sunday — the highest ever for the airport. This record showcases the growing importance of Pune as a major air travel hub.
The increased air traffic has been managed efficiently thanks to the tireless efforts of the Indian Air Force Air Traffic Control (ATC) team based in Pune. Their dedication has been instrumental in handling the growing number of both civil and defence flight movements seamlessly.
More Civil Flight Slots During Peak Hours
To accommodate rising passenger demand, 15 additional civil flight slots have been introduced during peak hours at Pune International Airport. This development, made possible with the cooperation of the Indian Air Force, has increased the daily flight movements from 220 to 235. This expansion not only boosts airport capacity but also enhances connectivity for Pune and its surrounding regions.
As Pune Airport continues to modernize and expand, these enhancements reflect a strong commitment to offering passengers a world-class travel experience rooted in local flavor and operational excellence.
