Pune News, July 11, 2025: In order to boost Pune’s infrastructure, the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) has invited construction bids for two major elevated corridor projects aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity in the region. The projects include the Hadapsar-Yavat Elevated Corridor and the Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur Corridor, with bid openings scheduled for August 22, 2025.

Key Projects & Details

1. Hadapsar-Yavat Elevated Corridor

  • Scope:
    • 6-laning of the existing Pune-Solapur highway from Hadapsar to Yavat.
    • Construction of a 6-lane elevated corridor with a provision for a metro corridor on the second level.
  • Objective: To decongest one of Pune’s busiest routes and integrate future metro expansion.

2. Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur Corridor

  • Scope:
    • 4-laning of the existing road from Talegaon to Chakan.
    • Construction of a 4-lane elevated corridor along this stretch.
    • 6-laning of the existing highway from Chakan to Shikrapur.
  • Objective: To enhance industrial and logistics connectivity in the Chakan-Talegaon belt, a major automotive and manufacturing hub.

Other Ongoing Projects

  • Pune to Shirur Elevated Corridor (Pune-Ahilya Nagar Highway):
    • Bids already invited, opening on July 24, 2025.
  • Nashik Phata to Rajgurunagar (Khed) Elevated Corridor (Pune-Nashik Highway):
    • Being developed by NHAI as an 8-lane elevated corridor.
    • Bids opening on September 1, 2025.
