Pune: 37-Year-Old Man Dies in Tragic Car-Truck Collision in Wagholi; Truck Driver Flees

In a tragic early morning accident, a 37-year-old man, Yuvraj Patil, lost his life after his car collided with a truck in Wagholi’s Gade Wasti Chowk. The incident occurred around 4 AM on Saturday, June 9th when the truck driver allegedly took a sudden turn without warning, leaving Patil with no time to react. The impact was severe, resulting in fatal injuries, and Patil was pronounced dead on the spot.
The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Aniruddha Patil, the Wagholi police have registered an FIR against the unidentified truck driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Motor Vehicles Act (MVA).
Police officials stated, “Initial findings indicate negligence by the truck driver. We are reviewing CCTV footage and eyewitness statements to take appropriate legal action.” The incident has raised concerns over road safety on Nagar Road, where reckless driving remains a persistent issue.
Patil, a resident of Dudulgaon Alandi, was traveling by car when the fatal collision occurred. Investigations are being led by Police Sub-Inspector Bagal.
