Pune, June 30, 2025 – A 30-year-old man was brutally attacked with a sharp weapon near Pune Railway Station late Friday night following a dispute over a mere ₹400 loan. The victim, identified as Sachin Shivaji Mane, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Altercation Over Borrowed Money Turns Violent

According to the complaint filed at Bundgarden Police Station, the accused, known by the nickname “Lambya”, resides in the same locality as the victim. Both Mane and the accused work as daily wage laborers. The conflict arose when Mane demanded the return of ₹400 he had lent to the accused earlier.

The argument escalated near the railway station’s parcel office, where the accused allegedly pulled out a sharp weapon and attacked Mane, leaving him critically injured. Police sources confirm that the accused fled the scene immediately after the assault.

Police Launch Manhunt for Absconding Accused

Police Sub-Inspector Swapnil Lohar, who is leading the investigation, stated that a case has been registered and a search operation is underway to apprehend the accused. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and questioning locals to gather more leads.

Mane remains hospitalized, and his condition is reported to be serious. The police have urged anyone with information about the suspect to come forward.
