Pune: 2 New Lifts and Drinking Water Facilities Inaugurated at Pune Railway Station

Pune News, June 11, 2025: In a major step towards enhancing passenger amenities, Pune Lok Sabha MP and Union Minister of State (MoS) Murlidhar Mohol inaugurated new lift facilities and a purified drinking water cooler at Pune Railway Station today. The newly installed lifts are located at Platform No. 6’s circulating area and Platform No. 1, while the advanced water cooler has been set up at Platform No. 1.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to modernize Pune Railway Station’s infrastructure, ensuring better accessibility and convenience for passengers, especially senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and women travelers. Indian Railways has undergone a massive transformation, with world-class facilities being rapidly introduced across the country. Pune Railway Station is also set for a major redevelopment soon.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by key railway officials, including Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma, Additional Divisional Railway Manager P.U. Jadhav, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anilkumar Pathak, and Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (General) Parag Akanurwar, along with other departmental officers.
These new facilities aim to make travel more seamless, comfortable, and secure for passengers, aligning with the government’s vision of a modern and passenger-friendly railway network.
