Pune, May 19, 2025: A 12-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a speeding Toyota Innova in Pune’s Kondhwa area on Sunday evening. The 23-year-old driver, was arrested following the incident after locals thrashed him and his car before handing him over to the police.

The accident occurred around 4:15 pm at Bholenath Chowk traffic junction in Kondhwa Budruk. The victim, identified as Nivrutti Bajirai Kisve, hailed from Latur district and had recently moved to Pune with his family. The accused, employed as a driver, was booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections for rash driving and causing death by negligence, along with Motor Vehicles Act provisions.
