Pune: 11-Year-Old Boy Dies After Scooter-Truck Collision in Kharadi

Pune News: An 11-year-old boy, riding pillion on a scooter driven by his sister, tragically died after being run over by a truck in Kharadi on Saturday evening. The accident occurred around 4:10 PM on an internal road leading to the IT Park.
The victim, identified as Anshuman Gaikwad, a resident of Keshavnagar, was attending private tuition classes in Kharadi. His sister (23), who was driving the scooter, suffered serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital.
According to police reports, the truck suddenly braked at a speed breaker, causing Anshuman’s sister to lose control. The scooter collided with the truck, throwing both riders onto the road. Tragically, Anshuman was crushed under the truck’s rear wheel when the driver accelerated.
The Kharadi police have registered a case against the truck driver under sections 281, 106(1) (rash and negligent driving), and 125B (endangering life) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
