Pune, June 20, 2025: In a bid to enhance safety and preserve natural beauty, the Raigad District Administration has issued a prohibitory order restricting activities at popular tourist spots, including Devkund Waterfall, Secret Point, and Tamhini Ghat. The restrictions will remain in effect from June 17 to September 30, 2025, covering a 1-kilometer radius around these locations.

Key Restrictions in Raigad District

  • 🚫 Alcohol consumption strictly prohibited.
  • 🏊 Swimming or bathing in waterfalls banned due to safety risks.
  • 📵 Dangerous selfies/videos posing hazards to tourists are not allowed.
  • 🚯 Littering, especially plastic waste, is prohibited.
  • 🚗 Vehicle entry restricted, except for essential services.

The administration aims to prevent accidents, reduce environmental damage, and maintain public order during the monsoon season when these spots attract heavy footfall.

Satara District Imposes Similar Restrictions Under Disaster Management Act

Meanwhile, the Satara District Administration has also enforced Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code 2023 and the Disaster Management Act 2005, imposing restrictions on tourists at key destinations. These measures will be in place from June 20 to August 19, 2025, prioritizing public safety amid increasing tourist activities.
