PMRDA Inspects Double-Decker Flyover at University Chowk; Final Finishing Evaluated

A team from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) carried out a site inspection of the University Chowk flyover on the Aundh-Shivajinagar stretch. The inspection was led by Yogesh Kulkarni, Superintending Engineer of PMRDA, along with representatives from Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd., Tata Projects Ltd., and the project management consultants. The visit was conducted as per the directions of Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan.
During the inspection, several points were reviewed and instructions were given to ensure smooth progress of the project. The temporary hoardings that were put up during the inauguration have already been removed. The ramp, stretching 210 metres, has been completed after technical approval, with a minimum clearance height of 5.5 metres at the Aundh Road and University Chowk section.
Contractors were instructed to put up proper direction boards, fix uneven patches, and clear debris and gravel from the road. Asphalt work was completed in June-July, and traffic movement has already started on the route. Officials added that the natural process of vehicle movement will further strengthen the road surface over time.
Currently, traffic is open on the Aundh-Shivajinagar route, while construction work continues on the Baner and Pashan sides. PMRDA said that efforts are ongoing to complete the remaining work in a planned manner to make travel more convenient for Pune residents.
