Pune: In a bid to boost local tourism and provide Punekars with affordable weekend getaway options, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has introduced two specialized tourist bus routes. Starting from Pune Station, these air-conditioned electric buses offer a blend of nature, history, and spiritual exploration for a flat fare of just ₹500 per seat.
The initiative aims to simplify travel to popular outskirts destinations that were previously difficult to access via public transport. By deploying eco-friendly electric buses, PMPML is ensuring a comfortable and sustainable “one-day picnic” experience for families and solo travelers alike.
Explore Nature and History: Route 7 (A)
The first featured route, Tourism Bus No. 7 (A), takes passengers on a journey through the scenic countryside to Morachi Chincholi, a village famous for its abundance of peacocks and rural charm. The itinerary also includes significant historical and religious stops:
- Mastani Samadhi (Pabal): The memorial of Mastani Sahiba, offering a glimpse into Maratha history.

Spiritual and Rural Retreat: Route 6 (A)
The second route, Tourism Bus No. 6 (A), focuses on the spiritual heritage of the region combined with agro-tourism. Key highlights include:

- Darekar Wada (Yavat): An agro-tourism destination known for its tranquil environment and “rural culture” experience, advertised as an ideal spot for a peaceful family day out.
