Pune, March 11, 2026: A shocking daylight kidnapping in Pimpri-Chinchwad has sparked widespread concern after a disturbing CCTV video surfaced showing a businessman being dragged into a car while screaming for help.

The incident, which took place in a busy area of the industrial township near Pune, was captured on surveillance cameras and quickly went viral on social media, raising questions about public safety and bystander response.

Kidnapping Caught on CCTV

According to police, the victim, identified as 43-year-old businessman Suresh Kumar Babumal Jaiswani, was travelling on a two-wheeler when the attack happened. The incident occurred around 5:15 pm near Rahatani–Shivrajnagar area, close to a local hotel and commercial establishments.

CCTV footage shows a car stopping near the businessman. Several men quickly get out, push him off his scooter and begin assaulting him. As they overpower him, the victim can be heard shouting “Bachao! Bachao!” in desperation.

Despite the commotion and the victim’s cries, the attackers forcefully push him into their vehicle and drive away within seconds.

The video also shows people nearby witnessing the incident but not intervening, reportedly out of fear that the kidnappers were armed.

₹50 Lakh Ransom Demand

Investigators later revealed that the kidnappers allegedly contacted the victim’s family using his mobile phone shortly after the abduction. They demanded a ₹50 lakh ransom, threatening to kill him if the money was not paid.

Police suspect the crime was pre-planned and carried out by a gang targeting the businessman for extortion.

Massive Police Operation Launched

The gang was believed to be attempting to flee toward the Ahilyanagar and Nashik region, prompting police to coordinate with neighbouring districts.

Dramatic 100-km Chase and Rescue

Police teams tracked the suspects for over 100 kilometres, setting up checkpoints along key routes. A breakthrough came when officers intercepted the suspects near Sangamner after tracking their vehicle movements. Realising that police were closing in, the kidnappers reportedly abandoned the victim near Chandanapuri Ghat and attempted to escape.

The businessman was later located and rescued safely within hours of the abduction.
