Nowcast Alert: Thunderstorms and Moderate Rain Expected in Pune, Nashik & Other Districts
Pune, June 06, 2025, Maharashtra Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for several districts in Maharashtra, including Pune, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Satara. The alert was issued at 2:35 PM on June 6, 2025, and remains valid until 5:35 PM the same day.
As per the IMD forecast, light thunderstorms are expected in these regions accompanied by surface wind speeds below 40 km/h. Residents can also expect moderate rainfall, with intensity ranging between 5 to 15 mm per hour during this period.
Authorities advise people to remain alert, especially in areas prone to waterlogging and traffic congestion. Outdoor activities should be minimized during the alert window, and updates from official weather sources should be monitored closely.
