A Ritual Gone Wrong

Maani Pawar and her husband, Pradeep, had visited the showroom to take delivery of their new Thar worth ₹27 lakh. As many people do, they wanted to perform a traditional ritual before taking the car out for the first time. This involved placing a lemon in front of the tyre and driving slowly to crush it, a gesture believed to bring good luck.

However, things took a sudden turn. Maani was supposed to nudge the car gently to squash the lemon. Instead, she accidentally pressed the accelerator, and the vehicle shot forward, broke through the glass wall, and fell onto the pavement below.

Immediate Action and Safety

Thankfully, the car’s airbags deployed the moment it crashed, preventing serious injuries. Maani and a showroom employee, Vikas, who was seated beside her, were quickly taken to Malik Hospital for treatment. After receiving first aid, both were discharged later the same evening.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Dhania confirmed that the medico-legal case was registered but no complaints were filed. He also clarified that neither Maani nor her husband sustained major injuries.

A Lucky Escape

Local residents who rushed to the scene described the crash as terrifying, with the loud smash echoing through the area. Many were surprised that such an accident could occur during a seemingly harmless ritual. What started as a joyful car purchase and a customary blessing almost turned tragic, but luck was on their side.
