Union Minister of State and Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at the Pune Collector’s office on Friday to get updates about infrastructure development in the city. After being briefed about the initiatives, he issued cleared instructions to expedite the infrastructure development for the welfare of citizens.

Key directives issued in the meeting:

  1. PMC, PCMC and PMRDA to jointly prepare a plan for rejuvenation of Mula, Mutha, Pavana and Indrayani rivers.
  2. Steps to be taken for better traffic management in Pune city and surrounding areas.
  3. Action plan to connect villages not covered under PMGSY.
  4. Pune Metro and PMPML to prepare a plan for last-mile connectivity to boost metro usage.
  5. Ensure quality and timely completion of houses under PMAY.
  6. Effective solid waste management to be implemented in rural villages.
  7. Coordinate with banks to expand benefits of the Mudra scheme and improve loan distribution.
  8. Increase awareness of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana through taluka agriculture officers.
  9. Regular monitoring of food quality in nutrition programmes.
  10. Provide maximum benefits of government schemes to women self-help groups.
  11. Prepare time-bound action plans for all projects and conduct regular reviews.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Urban Development and Social Justice Madhuri Misal, MP Shrirang Barne, MLAs Bapusaheb Pathare and Babaji Kale, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Zilla Parishad CEO Gajanan Patil and senior officials.
