Mumbai to Sindhudurg in 5 Hours: New Coastal Highway to Revolutionize Konkan Travel

A transformative infrastructure project is set to redefine travel in the Konkan region as the upcoming Revas-Reddy Coastal Highway will slash the journey time between Mumbai and Sindhudurg to just 4–5 hours. This ambitious initiative promises to enhance connectivity, boost tourism, and provide a faster, scenic alternative to the congested Mumbai-Goa Highway.
Key Features of the Revas-Reddy Coastal Highway
Developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), the access-controlled highway will traverse Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts, offering travelers breathtaking views of the Konkan coastline. The project includes the construction of nine creek bridges at strategic locations:
- Revas–Karanja
- Revdanda
- Agardanda
- Kelshi
- Kalbadevi
- Dabhol
- Jaigad
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed authorities to expedite work on pending sections, ensuring timely completion.

The highway is expected to:
