Maharashtra Weather: Heavy Rains Over the Weekend as Mumbai, Pune and Thane On Orange Alert; Konkan on Red Alert

Maharashtra Weather, June 13, 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has escalated weather alerts across Maharashtra, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next three days starting today.

Pune, Mumbai, Thane, and Kolhapur have been upgraded from a yellow to an orange alert, signaling intense downpours, thunderstorms with lightning, and gusty winds reaching 50-60 kmph at isolated places.
Meanwhile, coastal districts Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg are under a red alert, indicating extremely heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms.
The rest of Maharashtra remains on a yellow alert, with forecasts of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds.

Authorities have advised residents to stay vigilant, avoid low-lying areas, and follow updates from disaster management teams. Waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and power outages are expected in vulnerable regions.
